Summer Skincare Guide for Indian Weather
Seasonal Skincare Oct 05, 2026

Indian summers are harsh — the heat, humidity, dust, and UV rays can take a serious toll on your skin. Oily skin becomes oilier. Dry skin becomes dehydrated. And pigmentation? It gets worse if you're not careful.

Here's how to keep your skin healthy, fresh, and glowing all summer long.

1. Switch to a Lightweight Moisturizer

Heavy creams that worked in winter will clog your pores in summer. Switch to a gel-based or water-based moisturizer that hydrates without feeling greasy.

Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and glycerin.

2. Sunscreen Is Non-Negotiable

This is the most important step. Indian summer UV index can go extremely high. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 50, PA+++ or higher.

Apply it every morning — even if you're indoors. Reapply every 3–4 hours if you're outdoors.

Choose a sunscreen that's lightweight and doesn't leave a white cast. Gel or fluid sunscreens work beautifully in Indian weather.

3. Double Cleanse at Night

Summer means more sweat, more oil, and more sunscreen. A single cleanse often isn't enough.

Start with an oil-based cleanser to break down sunscreen and sebum. Follow with a gentle foaming cleanser to remove sweat and dirt.

4. Add a Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C is your summer best friend. It brightens skin, fades pigmentation caused by sun exposure, and provides antioxidant protection.

Use it every morning before sunscreen.

5. Don't Skip Hydration

Dehydrated skin looks dull, feels tight, and produces more oil to compensate. Drink plenty of water, and add a hydrating serum or mist to your routine.

6. Exfoliate Gently

Dead skin cells build up faster in summer. Exfoliate 1–2 times a week with a gentle chemical exfoliant (like lactic acid or mandelic acid). Skip harsh scrubs.

7. Watch Your Diet

Summer is the season for cooling foods — watermelon, cucumber, coconut water. Cut back on spicy, fried, and overly processed foods that can trigger breakouts.
